Pressure drop alert. Barometric pressure expected to drop by 5 hPa in the next 3 hours.

Built around the days you're actually living.

Most trackers are made for step counts and sleep scores. Chasing Salt is made for standing up too fast, skipped meals, hot showers and the doctor who wants to see the pattern.

Logging a symptom with severity, posture and triggers

Log an episode before it fades.

Pick the symptoms you care about, then record each episode with as much or as little detail as you have energy for. Weather is attached automatically.

  • Severity, duration and how much it stopped you
  • Your posture and how long since you changed it
  • Triggers like heat, dehydration, meals, poor sleep or a missed dose
  • Heart rate and blood pressure, if you took them
  • What helped: fluids, salt, compression, lying down, elevating your legs
The Barometric Pressure insight comparing pressure changes with symptoms

Know when the pressure is about to drop.

Chasing Salt checks the forecast for your location every few hours and sends a heads-up when a big pressure change is on the way, so you have time to hydrate, salt up and plan a lighter day.

  • Pressure, temperature and humidity in real time
  • Alerts for drops and rises, even when the app is closed
  • Once you've logged ten severe episodes with pressure data, alerts tune themselves to your own sensitivity
Describing a goal in plain words and Apple Intelligence turning it into a daily 120 oz water goal

Set goals in your own words.

Type a goal the way you'd say it and Apple Intelligence sets up the target, unit and schedule for you. Track daily, weekly or monthly goals and build streaks that celebrate consistency, not perfection.

The Today dashboard with a pressure drop warning, goals, symptoms and streaks

See your whole day at a glance.

The Today screen brings your symptoms, goal progress, active streaks and current conditions together, with quick actions to log whatever just happened.

Patterns you can bring to your next appointment.

Your entries, combined with Apple Health data you choose to share, become 18 focused reports. When it's time to see a provider, export a clinical summary as a PDF to share or print.

Questions

Who is Chasing Salt for?

Anyone living with dysautonomia, including POTS, neurocardiogenic syncope and related conditions, as well as anyone who wants a detailed record of symptoms and what affects them. You don't need a diagnosis to use it.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. You can log everything yourself. If you wear an Apple Watch and allow access in Apple Health, Chasing Salt can line up heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, activity and more with your episodes for richer insights.

Why does it ask for my location?

To get local barometric pressure, temperature and humidity from Apple Weather. Allowing “Always” lets the app check the forecast in the background so it can alert you before a pressure change, even when the app is closed.

Can I share my data with my doctor?

Yes. The Clinical Summary Export creates a PDF of your episodes and patterns for any time range, ready to share, email or print.

Does writing goals in my own words need Apple Intelligence?

Yes, that feature uses Apple Intelligence on supported iPhone models and runs on your device. You can always create goals manually on any iPhone.

Is Chasing Salt a medical device?

No. It's a tracking and journaling tool that helps you notice patterns and talk with your care team. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition.
